Presently facing pressures from Bodimallu Narayana Reddy group, Deputy Mayor Sri Ramulu and from powerful Diwarkar Reddy group. With Telugu Desam fielding K Srinuvasulu former MP and Praja Rajyam Party which has made in roads in Anantapur politics with Ex, Mayor Prabhakar Choudhary and Khalifullah has incresed his problems. Congress party does not need any enemy, they themselves will spoil their chances for this seat. With out unity this seat is in the bag of opposition. Lot of hard work, compromises with in parties, pacifying the internal dissidence, pulling right strings may save this seat. Mrs Sonia Gandhi visited this Constituency twice and the valuable advantage gained by her charisma has been lost with internal politics.
