Congress today sought to underplay party MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's controversial yatra despite having expressed reservations about it earlier.
"He (Jagan) has already gone on record saying that it is his personal thing. He is on a personal tour. We have nothing to say", Union law minister M Veerappa Moily, incharge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh, told reporters in Hyderabad.
Asked about Jagan's sharp criticism of chief minister K Rosaiah, Moily said Rosaiah "is competent enough to reply to the criticism against him".
"Rosaiah is competent enough to reply. Why should I reply?, he said.
The Congress high command had reservations about the Kadapa MP taking out the yatra.
Jagan started his 'Odarpu yatra' on July 8 in Srikakulam district and he is now continuing the tour in East Godavari district.
About half a dozen Congress MLAs have supported Jagan during his yatra in East Godavari district.
Jagan started his yatra to console the families of those who died following the death of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash in April this year.
